Smart Divider with Storage & Seating
MAAKWERK designed a room divider for a mediation office in Wijk bij Duurstede, featuring built-in shelves, a seating nook, and a wide sliding glass door. The divider provides ample storage and maintains openness and flow within the space. This multi-functional design reduces the need for extra furniture, offers a cosy space to pause or work, and maintains a sense of openness that connects the kitchen and office. Clean, sharp lines contrast with the rustic character of the historic building, while soft, curved details create a welcoming ambience, all while ensuring natural light enters both areas.
Soft Curves
A distinctive feature of the room divider is the use of curved surfaces, finished with ReFelt’s Melange PET Felt panels. Thanks to subtle, hidden incisions, PET Felt can be smoothly shaped into curves, resulting in a seamless finish that adds a soft, modern touch to the divider’s clean design. The PET Felt is applied in both the seating nook and the doorway of the divider. With the Melange Collection available in a wide range of colours, MAAKWERK had the flexibility to create a divider that perfectly aligns with the overall structure.
