A calm, inviting atmosphere

House Of Kin has transformed a former church into a welcoming, Scandinavian-inspired space that serves children and staff alike. Drawing from the peaceful flow of rivers, the design team chose soft, natural colours and clean, understated shapes to foster a sense of calm and warmth. These thoughtful details work together to create an environment where children feel comfortable, with a refreshing and open atmosphere that balances simplicity with function.

Warmth meets functionality

The entrance leads into a cosy, Montessori-inspired classroom that blends elements of learning with a warm, “hygge” vibe. For added comfort, the PET Felt Acoustic Wall Shingles Scale were integrated onto the walls, providing essential sound-dampening qualities. Crafted from recycled PET, these wall shingles help soften noise, which is especially valuable in busy areas, and they add a textured, refined look to the classroom.
