Our products are made to absorb and dampen sound so that its reflections within a space can be significantly reduced. However, PET Felt cannot fully block sound.
Any space needs good acoustics — restaurants, hotels, (home) offices, meeting rooms, etc. Having a wall and/or ceiling, which absorbs sounds, can improve everyone’s experience and well-being. You can theoretically install PET Felt on any wall. If you are not sure, contact us or find an interior builder, who can assist you.
As every room and situation is different, we recommend getting in touch with an Acoustics expert. The general rule states that a minimum of ⅓ of the wall needs to be covered to improve the acoustics.
The αw value (weighted sound absorption coefficient) is a single number that indicates how well a material absorbs sound. It runs from 0 to 1, where 0 means no absorption and 1 means complete absorption. The higher the value, the more sound a material absorbs and the less it reflects back into the room. It gives a quick, comparable indication of acoustic performance across different products and materials.

The general tips are:
1. PET Felt panels have a front and a backside. That’s because the fibres are differently oriented. Always lay out the panels before you mount them. - 2. To install the panels, we recommend using a polymer adhesive sealant, such as Bison Poly Max High Track. The advantage of using this one is that it does not immediately get hard, so you can still make adjustments while mounting. The kit is not included with the panels, but it can be found at any construction materials store. - 3. PET Felt panels can also be mounted with a tackler and headless nails. The nails can barely be noticed, you can see small holes only from really close.

In order to best utilize ReFelt PET felt panels it is recommended to review the different ways that they are processed and fabricated. Please mail us at sales@refelt.com to recieve the instructions with all the necessary guidelines.
PET Felt is easy to clean and maintain. Most stains can be removed with plenty of water. Let the water drip through and blot the stain with a dry cloth. Never rub the PET Felt, as it can damage the material. Stubborn stains can be removed with special cleaning agents such as James Cleaning Set.
To showcase the cleaning treatment of PET Felt, we present two liquids that cause common stains: espresso and red wine.
Due to its porous structure, PET Felt can be easily cleaned with copious amounts of water. Water cannot damage PET Felt. In most cases, water is sufficient to remove stains.
If a stain remains, it is advised to dab it with a dry towel while still wet. Do not rub! Rubbing can cause damage on PET Felt and may cause bald spots.
Since PET Felt is made of recycled plastic bottles, it can withstand a lot. PET Felt is also impact resistant. However, the material should still be handled with care, so do not place it somewhere humid or dirty, as this will make it wear out quickly.

NOOS (Never Out of Stock) refers to a collection that contains the Standard and Refined panels. It ensures fast and efficient order fulfilment, with dispatch within 48 hours, flexible payment terms for orders up to €2.500 (excluding VAT), and tailored support for bespoke or larger orders.
Our usual delivery times are 2-4 weeks. For orders consisting of products from the NOOS collection (Never Out Of Stock) with a total order value of up to €2.500 excluding VAT, Refelt can deliver within the Netherlands within 48 hours. For all other orders, we will confirm the expected delivery week within 10 working days from the date you receive the order confirmation.
